PLEASE NOTE: This is the first of four sessions, the outline of this course will tentatively meet quarterly from either on-site locations or remote. This class is to be taken AFTER you have already taken the pre-licensing course.
We will lead participants through the licensing process, assist them in developing a business plan, provide advice for securing capital, and select a DMS system that is best suited for their operation. Dealers will also learn how to sell the car, put the deal together, and potentially sell value-added back-in products.
Central to the success of the New Dealer Academy will be the dealer mentor program. CIADA will work with the new dealer to engage the advice of a dealer mentor from our membership. The mentor will stay in a consultative relationship with the new dealer for a year.
The academy format will consist of four one-day training events at both onsite and remote locations. Where possible we will partner with one of our auction partners to utilize their facilities for training. Participants will go through training, and group exercises to improve their dealership operation and view actual auctions in action, etc. The curriculum will also provide leadership training as well as instruction on the importance of being involved in government affairs and the local community. The classes may be held in conjunction with another CIADA event or as a standalone event.
Class size will be limited to 10 participants in the first class and 20 in each subsequent class.
